Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Racine County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer it and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive limited technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, including popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers aggregate that traffic information. A browser can be set to reject cookies, although doing so may change how some website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
No database of court dockets or personal case information is hosted, maintained, compiled, or sold here. The site provides general directions to Racine County Circuit Court records, the Clerk of Circuit Court, municipal courts, and Wisconsin Circuit Court Access. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes appearing on the website. Information submitted to one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider determines its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service can guarantee complete security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If data from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its prompt deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with the law that applies where a visitor lives. Wisconsin's public-records framework, including Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31-19.39, concerns access to public records and does not turn this private website into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as site practices or governing law change. A revised version will appear here with its new effective date.
